LGBTQ-Affirming Treatment for Adults and Teens
Key Recovery provides evidence-based, specialized addiction treatment to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community in a supportive environment. Clients will work with their therapist to address a variety of issues including gender identity and expression, the coming out process, trauma, anxiety, depression and sexual compulsivity.
- All treatment components are LGBTQ affirmative and actively promote self-acceptance of an LGBTQ identity as a key part of recovery. Our treatment approach:
- affirms LGBTQ individuals’ sexual orientation, gender identity, and choices
- validates their values and beliefs
- and acknowledges that sexual orientation develops at an early age
- We recognize that individuals in the LGBTQ community may not seek out treatment services for fear of rejection or prejudice. Every member of our staff strongly believes in the diversity of the individual and honors each client’s dignity and self worth.
- Staff is trained in working specifically with the LGBTQ community
- We are a proud member of NALGAP (association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Addiction Professionals and their Allies), dedicated to the prevention and treatment of alcoholism, substance abuse, and other addictions in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer communities.
